Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ7 pm. It is closed on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (585) 730-4110. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is bookeaterbooks.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 236 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded cafes in Rochester.
Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Rochester follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was such a cute place to get lunch! There are two floors with spaces to eat and outdoor seating too. After you eat, you can browse around the bookshelves! The food came out quickly and was delicious. I got a drip coffee with oat milk and was surprised by how great it tasted considering it was such a plain drink. They seem to use quality ingredients here for their foods etc. and I will definitely be back.

This is a cafe lover's treasure. Hidden on South Clinton Ave...tucked away in a small converted house...it has great coffee and some delicious sandwich and dessert options. Quaint, it has a small selection of books to purchase...with summaries written by the cafe owner. Best secret: it has a second floor with a couple small areas for working or for private moments! ( Suggestion: if you are going to stay beyond an hour, park at the South Ave Diner parking lot.)

We love it here! It's a great atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to come and enjoy a variety of food options, their avocado toast with a fried egg is one of my favorites. It's a two-story bookstore and coffee shop and I highly recommend you visiting here when you're in the area. It's one of our regular haunts.

Cozy little bookstore. Itβs well organized but a smaller selection. They also have a used book section as well. They have coffee and some food and little tables and comfy chairs to sit at. Thereβs also a small kids section. Friendly employees. The coconut chocolate latte is delicious.

Cute little local shop with artsy vibe. They serve coffee, snacks and food. We tried a regular oat milk latte and a honey latte. The honey latte was very good and the regular latte was good too. We didnβt try any of the food but the menu looked appealing. There are lots of seating options both on the main floor and upstairs. There were quite a few people working on laptops and a few groups just enjoying their meals. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a comfortable spot to grab a coffee or a light meal.
